There are different ways of viewing religion it is important for people to remember to think outside of the box instead of being confined to particular views. Religious freedom can be used by the government to deem what the extent of their power is, there is not one strict/fixed definition of religion. The definition is constantly being altered by courts. Religion is subjective, it changes in function of where you are in life and the experiences an individual endures. Sullivan thinks this shows just how misunderstood religion is in the legal system. Her argument is that law cannot possibly get it [religion] right and that if by law, we mean statutes and constitutions.
