Most people"s impression of events/bodies that they have not experienced are from the mass media. You cannot understand the world of policing through media representation. The issues of policing is more complex than black and white - us vs them: binary thinking. Is based on the thinking of one way or another. Not a feature of critical thinking - too simplistic and limited: constellation thinking. Look at an issue - look at its complexity. Understand that there are different features of that phenomenal. They overlap with one another and they exist in a state of tension with each other. Opp, rcmp, csec, csis, military, etc: policing is more than beat officers in cop cars. Spies - in other countries: protection.
