SOSC 2480 Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Alarm Clock, Consumer Protection, Multiculturalism In Canada
Document Summary
Exercise 1: an introduction to law: in my opinion, the legal concept i believe to be the most important to sharing the ultimate concept of law is morality. I believe this because in society now, we are not allowed to bring our morals to the table when we form decisions. We just have to figure out what will be "best" for everyone without any system to base it on. In essence, i also believe sir william blackstone said: " the law is the codified prejudice of the people. " in which morality also fits in perfectly. Laws are carefully thought out and engineered as need arises to provide, basically, safety and financial security. Once in place, various levels of government enforce them. This system only works if everyone obeys to the rules, and, for the most part, we do; however there are those who either forget or intentionally ignore the law for their own selfish gains.
