An increase in national income caused by an increase in the quantity of the factors of production or of their productivity. Gdp growth, and even global efforts to curb climate change and greenhouse gas emissions are being opposed by many countries because they may exert a negative impact on global. Lost decades of economic growth and development - 80s. Countries" economies slowing down, and some even with negative growth - economies going backwards. In terms of gdp, africa"s declined from 70s to 80s. Continent of africa - considerably vulnerable in terms of climate change. Debate about growth is important because increase in productivity (through land labour and capital) may have broader impact on using certain resources, and the negative impact of climate change on africa. Issue of development - who the bene ciaries are. Progress of nations is now thought of and referred to as development .
