Revolutions: 1830 and 1848 are two big revolutions in europe (that were not really revolutions lol, 1830: unsuccessful revolt in italy, successful revolution in france, government was under charles x. Set apart from other places in europe: purer idea of the process of reform. Increase in the bourgeoisie (very wealth middle class) Slums: concentrated in industrial cities, people lived in cellars / basements. Infant / child mortality rate: 50% of children died before the age of 5: upper middle class, 136/1000 babies die, middle class, 274 / 1000 babies die, working class, 509 / 1000 babies die. Rotten boroughs: modern towns that stop existing as a result of the industrial revolution, only had 7 eligible voters in these towns while in full industrial cities usually have less than that. Over the next few decades, there are better working conditions, expanded electorates, etc.
