55 views5 pages

Document Summary

Culture is loosely defined by sociologists as a sum of the ideas, practices. And even material objects that people create to deal with a real life issue. The other stuff we used to define as culture like ballet, art, opera and more are things that are associated with high culture which are different from popular or mass culture. For an example a student may start a culture by having a breakfast sandwich before exams with an egg, cheese then sausage in that order. The student technically creates a culture this helps her deal with a problem such as anxiety. Religion in a sense is also a culture it helps to give life meaning and helps people to come to terms with death. A society is a group of people with shared territory, interaction, and culture. Some societies are made up of people who are united by friendship or common interests.
