Document Summary

These two readings talk about how the market used to be and ways to improve markets at a whole. Back in the middle ages, people had lived in an era where they did not have many rights and the rest for their individual freedom was limited. They lived with terrible health care and food was sometimes scarce. They lived in a society of the peasants and the nobles. By their was a mutual understand of reciprocity. Peasants would give them their labour, in return the nobles will give them protection and shelter. Eventually as society has progressed, small changes start to happen. The land was brought under cultivation, which created villages. Peasants cultivated land more intensely, by rotating crops and fallowing the land. They also had improved in their technology by getting new plows and expanding the use of water and wind mills. These small changes had a huge impact in many villages.
