The mode of production is in con ict with mode of exchange. Mode of exchange: you take it to the market and sell it for more than it was produced. Fundamental contradiction: social production and individual (capitalist) appropriation. Proletariat and bourgeoisie (con ict in social relations) (ex. the poor worker looking up at the rich bourgeoisie living in a mansion while he doesn"t have enough money to send his child to school can cause a con ict) Organization of production in individual workshop vs. anarchy of production in individual workshop. Expansion of market cannot keep up with extension of production (you can always be able to produce more but the market gets glutted) Humanity"s leap from the realm of necessity into the realm of freedom. Free market free labour are all contradictions. We are truly free when we are free from all of that (being free from buying commodities and necessity then you can truly be free)
