We can define the concept of race as the arbitrary classification of population groups into categories on the basis of perceived physical characteristics. To say that race is socially constructed means that race was created and put into motion by society. Race however, is a hypothetical construct, without any biases in biology or scientific validity. People have no inherent difference from others across the globe. The notion of race like stated earlier, was created by society and is used by dominant groups in society to divide ethnic groups into rankings of inferior and dominant (high class/low class). Multiculturalism can be viewed as a tool for the harmonious management of race and ethnic relations in an increasingly diverse and changing society. Empowers minorities to pursue the dual goal of ethnicity and equality. Multiculturalism lived up its billing as an instrument of change. It symbolizes the solution to many of the problems associated with pluralism in a democratic society.
