We are moving away from kinships (biological to social) Families are one of the main agents of socialization. They are the site/source of the major needs we have. Depiction of how family life was treated in the 1950"s (golden era of families) Moments of commonality appear, whereas other scenes of conflicts/contradictions appear. The father was unable to take the two boys to the sportsman show due to his busy schedule. The mother takes care of the household chores. When children feel that their parents do not dedicate enough time for them, they start developing relationships with others (friends) This ep indeed depicts 2 spheres that families seem to be public or private. This specialization of roles appears to have an impact. This emergence of stereotypes of dominant beliefs/conforms of motherhood/fatherhood. The show depicts the composition of the nuclear family. It is a social construction of family life, one which we are encouraged to embrace.
