The define and understand the concepts of diaspora and transnational and discuss their relevance in understanding ethnic relations in a global world. To understand the main similarities and differences between the two concepts and assess their relative strengths and weaknesses. Diaspora (greek work meaning scattered: distribution of people from their homeland (forced to leave, the movement, migration, or scattering or people away from an established or ancestral homeland. Migration theories emphasis on the binary process of travel from and return to no longer useful! (cohen, 2008) This word was often used to describe jewish or armenian immigrant groups; but now it has shifted to include various other ones as well. The darker the colours become, the more armenians reside in those areas. The lighter colours are the opposite; those are the areas where armenians dispersed. Imperial diasporas are formed out of the colonial or military ambitions of world powers.
