Follows media accounts of crime - want to know what the media is saying, if they are paying attention. Minimal situational stress - no stressor triggering crime, don"t require the stressor. High geographic mobility - travel to another location, access to car/ bus, travelled to commit crime. Attended classes and talked to bsu agents in late 1970s to learn about serial killer investigations did this when bsu was rather new.
