Document Summary

Ventral stream answers the how and the dorsal answers the what. If blindfold removed, will be able to recognize it. Visual knowledge, auditory knowledge, and tactile knowledge all confirm the hypothesis of multiple modalities. Access disorder: could not access the semantic knowledge that you had but that information was available. Cannot access knowledge of what you know through visual modalities but through other physical modalities prof. Degraded semantic store: no matter how you tried to obtain information about properties, they seem unable to access that knowledge. Left prefrontal and temporal lobes are implicated in the different aspects of semantic knowledge. Temporal lobe: at the base of the brain; seem to store critical information about objects. Parietal lobes seems to store the motion properties of objects, like how to manipulate them: these fit in the dual stream hypothesis (dorsal and ventral stream) Prefrontal cortex: at the front of the brain.
