More than 2/3 of americans are overweight, 1/2 of those are obese. 1/6 children and adolescents is overweight or obese. Men are more likely to be overweight but more women are obese. African american and hispanic women are more likely to be obese than are. Higher percentage of overweight hispanic men than african american or white. Affecting amounts of enzymes that contribute to functioning of fat cells.
