Theories of pitch discrimination: there are two theories: place theory and telephone theory. The hair cell is in the cochlear in the membrane. Peak of the wave and the crest of the wave depend: telephone theory counts the frequency. It matches the frequency and volley, although there is a problem since neuron has a limit of firing signal. It can be done to live human beings. The scientist figures out the threshold by seeing the sensitivity of the person"s ear to the tone.
