Document Summary

Others have claimed that gender roles is a product of nature and is determined by biology. These views claim that being exposed to testosterone and estrogen will enable an individual to behave in certain ways. For example, there are studies that show how male babies and female babies behave differently when given different stimuluses. These studies how male babies tend to stare longer at mechanic objects while female babies tend to stare longer at faces. These viewpoints aim to provide an explanation to the reasons why women and men tend to find themselves in different career paths. For example, men often gravitate toward science and engineering while women often choose health care and education. However, i believe that gender and the roles associated with it are more determined by society rather than biology. Furthermore, this social context is greatly situated with the family.
