Classical conditioning: discovered by pavlov, a russian physiologist who tested on dogs to learn about their biology. During one of his experiments he discovered that the dog started wanting food every time he heard a bell: unconditioned response (ur, a response (r) that is automatic or reflexive. No prior learning is needed for this response to happen. It is involuntary. (ex; someone blows in your eye, your eye blinks: unconditioned stimulus (us); stimulus something that provokes a response, a stimulus (s) that precedes and elicits (triggers) on.
