Document Summary

If you have any questions, email: ugres@yorku. ca. Undergraduate research participant pool (urpp) presentation (powerpoint presentation posted on. Empirical data data that you obtain through direct observations or scientific methods. Survey method consists of a set of written questions to determine people"s attitudes, beliefs, and behaviours. Advantage: efficient and cheap, anonymous. Population: example in class all canadian teenagers. Random sampling each person in the population has an equal chance of being chosen for the sample. Naturalistic observations when you want to describe or measure people"s behavior as they are behaving in a natural setting. Advantage: people are behaving naturally. Little control: wrong interpretation, cannot infer causation. Subject reactivity occurs when the subject is reacting to the way they are being observed. As a researcher, you should always have a pre- designed checklist of behaviours. Use checklist when making observations and stay within the checklist. Better to have two or more observers in order to compare and check observations.
