Document Summary
Born this way: communication systems within the body, endocrine, nervous, the central nervous system, the hindbrain, the midbrain, the forebrain. Chapter 3 : leave out pages 82-85 and 92-98 and 112-120. Two communication systems within the body: endocrine: glands and hormones, transportation of hormones from one gland to the other gland also known as the hormonal system. Nervous system: neurons and neurotransmitter: synaptic connections . Key communication here is between neurons that are very closely located (faster than endocrine system) communicate through neurotransmitters (ex dopamine) this triggers electric charge need to know that unless we can alter activity at synapis between neurons . If we can change neurotransmitter we will have profound affect on behaviour. Need to remember important hormones from endocrine system. Hormones released in bloodstream regulate basic body processes. Neurons are the building blocks: neurotransmitters are the messengers. They carry signals between neuro cells and neurons.
