Document Summary
Mood disorders: (sad) seasonal affective disorder: major depressive disorder at seasonal times. Bipolar disorder (formally known as manic depressive disorder): people with this disorder experience both mania and depression (mania is the opposite of depression) People with mania may have a very high self-esteem, think highly of themselves, optimistic, impaired judgement and decision-making impulsive, etc. People with mania have a lot of energy and can go without sleep for a long time. Predisposition so biological and then environment influences it. Depressed people think that they will never get over something. A non-depressed person would think of that something as temporary or as something they will get over eventually. Vicious cycle of depressed thinking: stressful experience, negative explanatory cycle, depressed mood, cognitive and behavioural changes (which in turn, causes other stressful events or worsens those that already exist) Word salad: when they put random words together.
