Document Summary

Thinking, memory and attitude work unconsciously and consciously, but larger part of us is working unconsciously. When we trust our intuition we often fail to see our intuition"s dangers/errors ex) intuitively i may choose an answer on test but it turns out to be wrong. Most people overestimate their intuitive decisions the naked intellect is an inaccurate measuring device to rely on. (1) hindsight bias, (2)judgemental overconfidence, and (3)people"s tendency to interpret information in situations (the three phenomena) shows why we cannot solely rely on our intuition/common sense (1) hindsight bias - i knew it all along phenomenon. When the outcome seems familiar(to past exp/memory), we think it is obvious. But when two opposite ideas seem like common sense, this becomes an issue need psychological research (2) overconfidence - tendency for us to think we know more than we do.
