Document Summary

Cleveland, a history of the modern middle east, 2013, ch. 15: brown, nathan j. (2013). Throughout history all over the world people have called for change and reform after being oppressed whether it was by their own government or foreign powers through colonialism. These up rises against the oppression were successful in many nations as they were able, through revolting, to achieve their goals and guarantee social justice and economic stability that they wanted to achieve. The same cant be said about the arab states because they have not been able to achieve the social justice and the economic stability they wanted to achieve through revolting against the government. I will be focussing my synopsis on the case of egypt. Egypt has been through two major revolutions in which they ousted the old regime but the new regime didn"t prove to be much better for the egyptians.
