The term critical does not refer to the quality of the conclusion, - is not negative thing. It actually refers to a thinking process that aims at evaluating. In order to think critically, one must bring in historical facts, observation, context, or ne may bring out he lack thereof a certain thought. It"s a skill, it is not something one is born with. Fundamental to fighting stupidity allows for abstract thoughts. A common bond between literature and politics is the desire for immortality: it allows one to transcend and leaving traces of their existence. In a way cheating death, the most haunting part being forgotten: a good example is that in history, mainly politics and literature have remained.
