Ideologies persist because it feels like we live in societies that are undetermined: ex. It will not be given to us through religion: modernity vs. christian middle ages: the meaning and sense of society is not fixed, the object of personal choice. Ideologies find their strength and force of attraction. Ideologies give answers to the meaning of life and direction of society.
