Hume says that we are just a bundle of perceptions and our perceptions are constantly changing, therefore i am not the same person i was 5 minutes ago --> no identity over time. Implication that after you die, there is no you --> we are just our physical selves (tf) A bundle of sensations even may be too strong a term because a bundle implies a twine, something holding all our sensations together --> according to hume (and nagarjuna) this does not exist. We are changing sets of 5 different properties. If you don"t assume an unchanging self, there"s no argument for the soul"s existence. We can solve the problem of thinking that properties require an object: some properties constitute the objects the describe (roundness constitutes a circle) The self = a collection of properties that are groundless; a sequence of events temporarily/causally related.
