Celsius scale: defined by assigning 0oc to the freezing point of water and 100o to the boiling point. A swedish scientist named anders celsius came up with the definition of 1 unit of t, He assigned, by definition, the number 0o celsius to the freezing point of water and then he assigned, by definition, 100 o celsius to the boiling point of water. Once those two t definitions are established you can the design a temperature measuring device, just like a typical thermometer (a glass tube with mercury). You can design a device for measuring any number of units of degree celsius. Lastly, you take the same tube and you divide the space in between 0 o celsius and 100o. Celsius into 100 equally spaced intervals, so that each interval measures 1o celsius, therefore 1 o celsius can be defined as 1/100th of the t difference between the freezing and boiling points of water.
