Electromagnetic radiation for signs of transmission from civilizations on other planets. The searches and projects are quite reasonable and can supported by evidence. Scientists are very curious about the possibility but no clear evidence yet for such life. We are looking for any sign of life: Defining life is not easy even on earth. We look for life we would recognize on earth at the beginning of this search. This does not mean that carbon based life is the only form of life that can exist. The notion of life beyond earth is an old theme but had little factual basis until quite recently. Observations of canal"s on mars and jungles on venus both erroneous - advanced the notion of life in the solar system. Microbial life possibly exists in other parts of the solar system. Planetary systems = potential sites for life real estate .
