Skin cells are constantly coming off, you are constantly shedding the outside layer; they replace themselves about every 7 days. Meiosis a process of cell division by which gametes containing half the normal number of chromosomes are produced. We have 46 chromosomes in our body. Egg cell has 23, sperm cell has 23. Gametes sex cells, e. g. , egg cells, sperm cells, pollen grains. Chromosome a strand of dna and protein found in the nucleus of a cell; carries genetic information.
