Artificial insemination-husband: sperm retrieval from testis or epididymis. Egg donation women donate their eggs (in canada, only donations are permitted, selling/buying is illegal) In vitro fertilization sperm and egg are brought together on a petri dish with fluids to keep it alive. Gift process where gametes are transferred into the fallopian tubes. Zift zygote implantation in the upper fallopian tube. Surrogacy (not used in canada) a woman carries an embryo and fetus to birth and the baby is not hers, she may supply the egg, the embryo may be implanted after it is fertilized. Ovarian transplant (research trials) transplanting part of a healthy ovary into the body cavity of a woman who has an unhealthy ovary. There are problems with finding the right match. Women doesn"t have a choice in the gender. Only the male can determine whether the embryo is xx or xy. Speculum instrument used to hold the walls of the vagina open.
