NATS 1610 Lecture Notes - Lecture 23: Threshold Potential, Basophil, White Blood Cell
Document Summary
Announcements: the exam is on saturday, april 8th at tait mackenzie, she has posted the chapter reviews on the moodle. Nervous tissue: it has three functions, sensory input, integration of data, and motor output. The sensory input signal travels along and goes to the integrator, which is the brain, then the brain sends out a signal to a motor neuron, to create a motor response. It is what gets a signal from one neuron type to another. You can usually see what the structure of something will be, just based off of the structure of it. The axon hillock is the area referred to as a trigger zone. Enough voltage gated channels must open at the hillock in order for a neuron to send a signal. The cell that sends the signal is referred to as the pre synaptic cell, and the one that receives it is the post synaptic cell, or neuron.
