Tech determinism suggests tech is the driving force of history. This is just a theory which gives humans power. We are moving away from making choices. Engineers who are creating something may have an idea, but when it is released for the users to use it, the users may have a different way of thinking than the engineer. We assume that tech only have one purposes. The experience is going to be different for every single user. Old tech play a huge role in shaping new techs. E. g. smartphones today are still able to make phone calls along with additional features such as texting, blogging, etc. The idea that tech has fundamentally reshaped our society on many levels. E. g. many people see the internet as revolutionary. A device that was revolutionary was the telegraph. The first way to communicate messages electronically. Poles and electronic wires that were used to send message from one point to another.
