It is important for us for developing the skill of evaluating arguments. Arguments are not rare, they are a part of our day to day life. In legal context arguments matter, each side trying to establish their point of view. Moreover, at the end of our education, each of us will write an argument in our cover letter to present reasons for a company to hire us (cid:894)gi(cid:448)i(cid:374)g reaso(cid:374)s to (cid:272)o(cid:374)(cid:272)lude i"(cid:373) the (cid:271)est to (cid:271)e e(cid:373)plo(cid:455)ed(cid:895). So, we need to learn how to present argument and how to evaluate it. Recognizing arguments and distinguish them from other types of discourse. Not every kind of discourse constitute an argument. Some claims do(cid:374)"t constitute arguments but constitute explanation/ description. Argument: an attempt to justify/ prove a conclusion. Giving reasons (multiple, or just one) that support some further proposition: note the intention of the person who is presenting a set of claims.
