Pueblo people of new mexico now live around canyon, but mainly deserted. Fajada butte has a set of rocks in which sunlight appears between them as short knives (sun daggers) on midsummer, midwinter and both equinoxes. Nebra sky disc: depicts the sun, moon, seven stars, and arc of how the sun moved from midwinter to midsummer from the bronze age. Sun shines directly through the corridor on midwinter day. On the spring and autumn equinoxes the sun shines through the entrance. At the winter solstice the sun rises behind the leftmost tower. Six months later it is rising behind the right most stone. People in the andes (south america) observed it to tell when to plant food.
