Document Summary

Basic clause types are formed without syntactic movement. Non basic clause types are formed by syntactic movements. An english declarative is one that has basic subject-predicate. An english inversion structure is one in which an auxiliary verb occurs before rather then after the subject. An english wh structure is one in which there is a wh constituent in the clause initials position. Interrogative words: who, what, where, when, why, how. Interrogative words are referred to as wh structures since, where and the exception of how, they begin with the letter sequence of their written form. From which terminal will their ight be leaving. An english passive is one in which the main verb in a clause: is in the past participle form and is preceded in the same clause by some form of auxiliary be: active. I have seen that lm already: passive.
