Follow standard of care, ethics, breaching them can lead to being sued. If you don"t know the skill, don"t do it: avoid doing something that"s not your legal right going past your scope of practice, only do skills you"re confident at. Following and having a protocol: make sure to receive consent. Liability: bound to our profession and scope of practice and standard care, duties and responsibilities you are allowed to perform, minimum standard of care, what you would do at a minimum level for an athlete. Fail to perform legal duty: not documenting it. Malfeasance: performing action that is not his/hers to legally perform, giving medicine, injections, beyond scope of practice. Misfeasance: do something within scope of practice but done incorrectly.
