Document Summary

Large muscle group contributing to hip flexion are the medial muscles on the thigh called adductors. Co for most part is the pubic bone for adductors. The muscles pass down to femur, pass in front of hip so flex hip and are adductors, pull leg to midline. Several muscles that start short, as pass towards midline of body in terms of origin they head down femur so get longer. Shortest is pectineus which heads to upper end of medial side of femur. Pulled groin is usually pectineus because its so short. Pulling occurs if the muscle is involved in flexion and adduction of leg. Stretching occurs when there is hip extension and abduction (try on self gently to feel tension in the muscles on medial side of upper thigh). You cannot run with pulled groin or push off. In football, runnerback get pulled groin if they accelerate recover they go back repull and damage it even more.
