Requirements specification: feature of the system that it is capable of doing, addresses the purpose of the system (what its supposed to do, and now how itll be implemented, non-functional requirements show how itll be implemented. Stakeholders: those that have interest in the system, users. Stakeholders at rmo: operational users of the new order system, inside sales rep(take the order), clerks(process order), warehouse, system involves new tech (internet) and so it requires technical staff. Identify current system procedures immediately and then develop the requirements/model for the new system. Skills needed and methods used: understanding user needs, analyze and solve business problems; identifying and capturing business rules, methods, giving out surveys to stakeholders/interview/observation, review existing reports, forms, procedure descriptions, build prototypes, conduct joint application development (jad) Review existing reports, forms, and procedure descriptions: preliminary understanding of processes involved and identify business rules, used to develop interview questions.
