Phenomenological method involves bracketing our prejudices and presuppositions about. Insider versus outsider religion and describing religious phenomena in a non-judgemental way. Seven dimensions of religion proposed by ninian smart: Religious tradition with monotheistic tendencies based on the teachings of the prophet. Belief in one supreme god called ahura madza. Good and evil deities engaged in cosmic struggle. Classical zoroastrianism could have monotheistic tendencies and still retain multiple divinities (oxtoby). Avesta, consisting of garthas, or hymns composed by zarathrustra. Zend: exegetical commentaries on the texts in the avesta. Six divine powers that emanate from the one eternal being, ahura mazda. Oxtoby is saying that when the isrealites were freed it was then that the ideas of an afterlife was created.
