Lawyer moves to another building waving his hands like gentlemen. Stranger complains about him the narrator says that"s your problem. They take bartleby to the tombs first public prisons. Narrator pleads with him but prefers not to do anything. Eventually narrator returns and sees that bartleby is crawled up in a ball. Narrator believes reading through mail is a very depressing story. Narrator: bartleby the humanity, ah bartleby, ah humanity. Do you think that bartleby"s actions broke any rules: no except for loitering, world oh phony morality do good things so people can see you as someone good. Do you think the lawyer did the right things by leaving bartleby in the office: no real responsibility for someone who is not so forth coming, yes he did the right thing not his responsibility. The opportunity to prove to himself that he is a compassionate moral person.
