One of the features with religions with gods is encouragement to be more god like. Arjuna is not being told how to shoot an arrow, the idea is that its not enough, hes not lacking the skills he"s got a weakness which is his mind. Often times we breakdown in situation because of fear. Many of these religions of gods is drawing often on this concept of god and getting something that will have a character learn their lesson and learn not to fear.
