Parents making boys shoveling snow because it"s a man"s job. It is one prominent reason for the persistence of sex discrimination, women"s lower wage levels, sex segregation, and other unequal gender-based treatments: many women choose female dominated work without even considering similar male-dominated, more lucrative positions. It affects women"s treatment in organizations by managers and peers, career. Choices and paths, and women"s responsibilities outside of work: both male and female recruiters will prefer to hire men in most cases. It neutralizes/constrains the effectiveness of antidiscrimination and pay equity legislations. Construction dominated by men, health and social services dominated by women: educational spheres: men or women study different education programs, ex. Most female students study education: leisure spheres: men and women have different amounts of free time, and they often choose to spend it differently, ex. On average women spend around 3 hours on housework and men spend about 1-2 hours.
