New dynamic and aggressive form of the modern day contemporary image of women, one that is commodified, sexualized, and highly controlled. Tradition, history, and women: dominant patriarchical view: the grounding basis of women"s issues is traced to tradition (the way women have been traditionally seen in society) There is one main paradigm through which women"s position in society is understood, which is patriarchy. Patriarchy is an ideological, cultural, and political system that orders people in their place on the basis of their born sexuality, which can take numerous forms. Patriarchy can also be oppressive as men, though it might not have the same features (people being placed in certain positions on the basis of roles, which, in itself, is oppressive) This view claims that historical male dominance is rooted in the anthropological sources of human society, which point to things such as the traditional anthropological division of labour.
