No tradiion of historical wriing for most of our period. Herodotus is the irst extent of a greek historian. There were other historians but none survived like his work. For every great other we have lost dozens because of lost history and destroyed content. Many biases inherent in these sources, literacy was limited in the ancient world. Elite people who had leisure ime to write and compose writen works which would include some bias in them from an elite perspecive. There is almost no female authors very few compared to the large amount of male authors. Linear a is a script writen by the minoans. A lot of tablets were either destroyed or persevered . Linear a has never been deciphered we do not understand how the language works and also the text are very short. Linear b we can read by a discovery in the 1950s. They assumed it was similar to greek which was spoken by the miniceans.
