Britain declares war and belgium resists german invasion. Battle of ypres: first canadian battle in ww1. Battle of somme: "the bloodbath" tanks are used. Vimy ridge: first all canadian offence lead by general arthur currie. Halifax explosion: imo and mont blanc collide and create an explosion. Treaty of versailles: unfair conditions given to the germans (reparitions, full responsibility, demilitarisation, anschluss).
