How working class families coped with changes of intense economic structures. It is a story of what happened to family households in the 80s and 90s. Women"s position in the household was the primary focus of study. Discussing household and families" response to that transition. Transition from stability in the post war era to one that is characterized by fewer support and unstable labour market. This issue of identity becomes important in the context of change and insecurity, and how people identify their racial. It was chosen for a variety of reason: one of the first industrialized cities: established a working class, often dubbed steel town in the historical developments that transpired there as the marker of development. Period of prosperity until 1981, when a major strike ensued. 1981 is the beginning of the study which they traced the shift. Working class families experienced a gradual decline in their standard of life.
