It was a federal government ran by churches. If you didn"t want your child taken away from you you could be put in jail. 1933 legal guardian was not the parents but the principals. And aboriginal could not be trusted to be the guardians of their children. 1860s- village 3400 people 30 years later there was 44 people this is because of the small pox. They gave the blankets to aboriginals so they can get small pox and die. John macdonald"s policy starving aboriginal people to make way for white settlers. Child wealth fare happened and kids were taken out from their homes and put into white homes. He heard stuff about the abuse and he decided to take his concerns to his church and he found himself to be kicked out of the church. Trying to let the kids to forget where they came from and trying to white wash them.
