It is a language that we communicate meaning. We use discourse to talk about all the different ways we communicate. What we look for that discourse and what is being communicated. Place is always an idea, it can be represented negatively. It doesn"t matter if it accuracy the ideas matter. This is going to be an aesthetic it is sensory / how it feels. There are many intangible, this is a messy business. The emotions are important as it influences (economic, political) The emotions about those places are part of that. The production of meaning is the collection of the process. The public can impose something on the place. There are different types of actors that will come after the creator. There can be multiple meanings of a place that can change over time. Chairs for people who died in the bombing. This is saying that we want people to see it in an active way.
