Siltaion (generally good) - dissolved minerals in water: upstream: dams slows the river, silt built up can cause the dam wall to collapse, downstream: farmers not geing nutrients from washed up silt for the crops. Frequent earthquakes & landslides: heavy dams put pressure on platonic plates of earth and they shit because of heavy water, preliminary research has shown large dams cause landslides. Threat of species exincion: yangtze (baiji) dolphin now exinct.
