New cinematic techniques are constantly being invented and remodeled. Modern day cinema is quite a silent event- the audience makes little or no noise as the film plays. There were live spectacles staged for an audience"s enjoyment. We have this belief that early cinema is not as sophisticated as modern day cinema. Our belief is that narrative film has reached the pinnacle of its early endeavors. Cinematic pleasure does not always have to be derived from our limited idea of film; in early cinema, the basics still brought a sense of enjoyment. Visual pleasure can be reached through simple means. Lumiere brothers: their work consisted mainly of moving images from scenes of everyday life. Ironically as we look back in retrospect in comparison to what film has developed into today, the lumiere.
