Science notebooks can be used to enhance student learning in science education as you are not restricting the flow of their ideas. This is the first time i heard of this- which is a little upsetting to me as i was a visual and hands on person. After completing the readings and videos, this science notebook almost seems like a scrapbook for me to keep all the information about the topic i"m learning about but with specific details so i can retain the information. Furthermore, science notebooks can be used to support teaching elementary science education as learning in these early stages are almost play based but focused around inquiry based learning. A lot of the content and information students learn are from observation- but the exit ticket of demonstrating your information processed is where there is a fine line between expression of thought and assessment. Most of the times, worksheets are given and marked.
